8 Things That Should Exist By Now (But Still Don’t)

We already have AI, that can help us with basically everything — writing our emails, generating some pictures, giving us some ideas. Then we also have cars that (well.. almost) drive themselves, and apps that can listen to us better than some people.

And yet… the little ( some of them quite bigger) things that could make life easier are still missing.

Here are 8 ideas from someone who likes imagining how things could be better — and, at the time I’m writing this article, they still don’t exist.

1. A Truly Wireless Monitor

We’ve cut the cord on headphones, keyboards, even charging (well, kinda). Wireless charging isn’t really wireless, but hey, for marketing it sounds great.

When it comes to monitors, we are still stuck with HDMI and USB-C cables, and trying to do some cable management on the desk. But let’s be honest, everyone hates cables on the desk.

So, let’s imagine, just for a tiny bit: You open your laptop, and a second screen just appears on your monitor. No lag and no cables. (Okay, maybe just for charging….)

We have the tech, but we just don’t have the product.

2. Smart Voice Assistant That Actually Feels Smart

Siri, Alexa, Google — they can answer, but they don’t really understand. But hey, it is still something. Why don’t we just take the intelligence of ChatGPT and integrate it with smart voice assistant?

Let’s evolve from software… well, to soulware. Although the movie Her scared a few people — but maybe a little emotional intelligence in our tech isn’t such a bad thing?

3. Clip-On Wireless Headphones (No In-Ear Invasion)

This is my guilty pleasure. I always wanted to find a compromise between sticking my earbuds deep in my ears and those big ones that goes on your head, where your head seems smaller than your headphones.

This was always my wish, but it still remains unheard.

It is lightweight, clip-on, truly wireless headphones and it doesn’t go in your ear at all — comfortable enough to wear all day. I really didn’t find it, but if it exists, please just drop me a link, thanks.

4. A Smart Calendar You Can Write On

I want a calendar that lives on my wall, syncs with my phone, and lets me write on it like a whiteboard. It recognizes my handwriting, updates my Google Calendar, and sends reminders.

Think: Kindle + iPad + planner.

With a little bonus – to look like a picture, if not used. Like a frame TV.

5. Private Cabins in Public Transport

Imagine a tram or bus where you can pay a little extra for your own quiet place, a cozy seat and a fold-out table. Maybe even a little door.

Safe space shouldn’t be a luxury and some quiet time shouldn’t require headphones.

Productivity and peace can go hand in hand — even on the go.

And lot of people are traveling around 30 minutes, so why not have these 30 minutes in a more comfort, peace and safety?

6.  An AI-Powered Dating App That Actually Gets You

Swiping based on looks is outdated.

Imagine if a dating app actually knew who you are — and matched you not just based on your profile, but how your personality feels. Of course, looks still matter — everyone has their own taste and this app would take that into account too: what you find attractive, what kind of vibe you’re drawn to.

But beyond that, the AI would understand your emotional depth, your communication style, even your daily rhythm. And when a match happens, it will help you plan the date.

Finally a smart dating app for real connection.

7. A Robot That Irons and Folds Your Clothes (Properly)

Washing and drying are easy. But the ironing and folding? Well, we re still not there yet.

Now imagine: you toss in 5 shirts and a dress. It scans each item, presses and folds them perfectly, and stacks them. No burning, no weird creases.

Just clean, folded, peaceful laundry — without lifting a finger.

8. Pedestrian Bridges at Every Major Crosswalk

Waiting for the red light, when you could already be halfway across on a pedestrian bridge.

It doesn’t have to be this way, it has one simple solution.

What if cities had elevated walkways — I am not an architect, neither a designer, but can it be beautifully designed to match the surroundings? So pedestrians could move freely, without stopping cars or risking anything? Safe, stylish, and smart urban flow.

It would save time for pedestrians and less waiting for red light, only when really needed.

It is Just an Observation

It is just an observation from someone who… thinks and dreams a little too much.

Although I am not dreaming about teleportation. ( Not yet 😉 )

Just tech we already have, combined with a things we already have. It would led us to have smart, human-centered solutions.

Until then — I’ll keep imagining them, writing about them, and maybe, someday, helping bring them to life.

Because imagining how things could be better?

That’s kind of my thing.

And if someone accidentally takes one of these ideas… don’t forget to send me a little patent bonus, okay? 😉
